Ethernet to RS-232/485 serial port converter with 8/8 digital inputs/outputs. Accessible as a remote serial port in Windows, or via Telnet.
The serial port is accessible via a Telnet protocol. Alternatively, it can be redirected to a virtual serial port in Windows (e.g. COM 27).
Digital dry contact inputs can be used to read the states of external relays or buttons. Eight digital outputs can control external relays.
Typical applications include extending a serial port and I/O lines over an IP network by connecting two I/O Controllers against each other (“tunnel“ or prolong the I/O & serial).
The I/O controller is frequently used for connecting peripheral devices to a central server. A barcode reader is connected to RS232, buttons are connect to digital inputs, and status indicators (a light tower) are controlled with digital outputs).
